The element of effective school leadership is vital to the successful integration of vocational education and training (VET) programs in secondary schools. An understanding of the ways in which school principals implement VET in their schools is a valuable contribution to the emerging literature on VET in schools. In this article, the principal of Launceston College in Tasmania outlines the College strategy to improve and develop existing programs, enhance online capacity and introduce an enterprise focus to its VET programs. He describes the substantial vocational education programs in operation at the College and their relationship to regional employment demands. Show less
